THE CORRELATION BETWEEN OCURRENCE OF ECTOPIC PREGNANCY AND SEMEN ANALYSIS PARAMETERS

Objectives: To find if abnormal semen analysis in the husband have an effect in occurrence of ectopic pregnancy. Patients & Methods: The study was done on 75 patients had ectopic pregnancy and asked their husband for semen analysis. Patients were classified into 2 groups, group I which had female risk factors for occurrence of ectopic pregnancy and group II which had no female risk factor compare between every single parameter in semen analysis between 2 groups. Results: abnormal semen parameters was significantly higher in group II which indicated that male factor may be the cause of occurrence of ectopic pregnancy with absence of any other female factor while in group I, it had no effect and no statistical significance. Conclusion: In absence of female risk factor in a case of ectopic pregnancy searching for male factor or screening for semen analysis parameters which may be responsible for its occurrence.
