90 chronically infected patients were divided into two groups: G1included 45 cases with HCV infection alone and G2 included 45 cases with combined HCV and schistosomiasis. Both groups are subjected to histopathological examination of liver biopsy by METAVIR system. Histopathological examination of liver biopsy by METAVIR revealed that 71.1% of patients with combined schistosomiasis and HCV infection and 44.4% of HCV infected patients had grade ≤ F2. Patients with combined schistosomiasis and HCV infection had more advanced liver disease and more fibrosis than patients infected with HCV alone.
