Background: The aim of this study is to detect the prevalence of structural uterine abnormalities in cases of unexplained infertility by using office hysteroscopy. Methods: prospective observational study conducted at a tertiary university center. Eighty seven women were enrolled; all had unexplained infertility for more than 2 years. All women underwent outpatient office hysteroscopy. The prevalence of previously unidentified intra-uterine pathology that can contribute to the condition was measured. Results: Previously unidentified uterine abnormalities were detected in 19 (21.8%) women. Conclusion: When presenting with unexplained infertility office hysteroscopy offers a safe and accurate procedure that aids in the diagnosis and management of intra-uterine defects that may contribute to failure of conception.
