Bagkground: Nutrient foramen is defined as the largest foramina in the diaphysis of femur. Topograhic distribution of size ,location ,direction and size is very important in surgery as well as radiology. Method: The present study was done using 140 femora (78 left , 62 right). All the parameters are done using measuring tape and hypodermic syringe. Results: The mean length of femur was 41.78,and mean value of foraminal index was 47.98.The most common location was on posterior border of femoral shaft medial to linea aspera 29.7%. 62.9% of total femora showing one foramina and 30% showing double foramina. Conclusion: The results observed here showed variation in size, location, foraminal index. These results are very useful in surgical procedure as well as orthopedic surgery.
